Baby Heart Quilt

This quilt was made using a modified version of the ZigZagLove pattern on Craftsy [http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/quilting/home-decor/zigzag-love/46555].  I used a 9X9 block, and offset spacing to create two rows of chevrons instead of just one.  I tried to find patterns that resembled Lilly Pulitzer designs, but I think that I may have missed the mark a bit and ended up a little more Vera Bradley.  Fabrics are a combo of Michael Miller and Amy Butler designs.  I love the backing fabric, so fun!

This is only my second quilt and I think it turned out pretty good!  I had one major flaw, which resulted when I was trimming the batting away from the backing.  I used backing fabric for the binding and I am in love with this method of binding!  It's very economical (ie. free because you just pull the backing around to the front!) AND it looks good AND you don't have to make 1,756,295 inches of bias tape!  You do need to be super careful about trimming the batting - I ended up with a small hole at one section, which I had to use a label to cover up :/

Here are some photo's of progress along the way...

I wanted to do a Monogram on the back.  Joanne, over @stitchesmonogramming [on Instagram] did this lovely initial monogram for me:
